Manou Macaud received the Lamp Transmission to become a Dharma teacher in 2017. Former Plum Village Monastic and direct disciple of Thich Nhất Hạnh, for over seventeen monastic years, she has guided retreats, mindfulness
trainings, and circles of deep listening across Europe, the Middle East, India, and the United
States—inviting communities into stillness, connection, and the healing power of presence.
Rooted in the teachings of interbeing, Manou’s path bridges contemplative practice and
collective care. During her 17 years at Plum Village Monastery in France, she helped lead
hundreds of retreats, co-founded The Happy Farm—an organic, mindfulness-based farming
project—and nurtured spaces where people and the Earth could heal together. Her facilitation
weaves together meditation, relational practice, and ecological awareness, offering pathways for
individuals and communities to live with compassion and authenticity.
Now serving as the Center Manager of Land of Medicine Buddha in Soquel, California, Manou
continues to deepen her practice in service of the Three Jewels—Buddha, Dharma, and Sangha.
She is dedicated to cultivating environments where mindfulness and compassionate action meet,
where people can breathe, belong, and awaken to their own capacity for joy, insight, and care for
all beings.
