Weekend Retreat
Part of the Three Week Teaching series Segyü Khen Rinpoche Lobsang Wangdu
Join us for a transformative retreat exploring Eight Verses for Training the Mind, one of the most beloved and profound teachings of the Tibetan Buddhist tradition. Composed by the great master Geshe Langri Tangpa, these eight concise verses offer practical guidance for transforming the difficulties of everyday life into opportunities for developing compassion, patience, humility, and wisdom. Rather than being overwhelmed by conflict, disappointment, difficult relationships, or challenging circumstances, mind training (Lojong) shows us how to work directly with our own attitudes and responses. Through gradually loosening self-centeredness, learning to cherish others, and transforming adversity into the path, these teachings point toward a more open, resilient, and peaceful way of meeting life.
The retreat will include teachings, meditation, and opportunities to reflect on and integrate the Eight Verses into our own lives and Dharma practice.
Whether you are new to Buddhism or a longtime practitioner, this retreat offers a precious opportunity to deepen your understanding of the Dharma and discover practical methods for meeting everyday experiences with greater compassion, awareness, and wisdom. Teachings will be given in Tibetan by Khen Rinpoche with English translation by Venerable Steve Carlier.
A vegetarian lunch is included with all registration.
If you require financial assistance, we offer limited scholarships on a case-by-case basis. Please fill out a form here to be considered.
