Ksitigarbha Pure Land, Land of Medicine Buddha

Join us to make offerings to Ksitigarbha, to the transcendental guests, and to make prayers for all beings. Monks from the Gyuto Tantric College will lead a special puja to make offerings and requests to the enlightened beings and dedicate prayers for the benefit of all beings in the six realms.

The 100 Torma Offering Ritual is based on a Tibetan tradition. The same one in the Chinese tradition is the Mengshan Food-Bestowal Ceremony. Through the offering of nectar water consecrated with mantras, it provides relief to hungry ghosts and the spirits of the deceased. Making such offerings is no different from making offerings to all the buddhas in the ten directions and shows the practice of great compassion and the aspiration to bring all beings to enlightenment.

Lunch

Free vegetarian lunch will be provided at noon. Please register through this website so that we know if you will be joining us for lunch.

Parking

Please park in the meadow for this event. Parking attendants will be able to assist you on the day of the festival. If you are less abled, you can be dropped off at the Ksitigarbha Temple on the way to the meadow. Parking spaces are limited; it is recommended to share rides.

Special Dedication

If you would like to dedicate the merit of this profound practice, please submit the name of the person you wish to dedicate the merit to when you register for the event. These names will be read out at the end of the puja. Donation is optional. Offerings can be made when you register for the event.
