Lama Chopa Experiential Commentary

With Kyabje Khensur Jhado Chogtrul Rinpoche

January 23 - 29, 2026

Please note: Registration closes at midnight on January 12th or when we reach capacity. Please register as soon as possible to secure your spot.

About the Program

We are excited to announce that Kyabjé Jhado Rinpoche will give an Experiential Commentary on Lama Chopa (Guru Puja) — one of the most profound and beloved practices in the Gelug tradition.

Lama Chopa, meaning “Offering to the Guru,” is a complete path of the sutra and tantra teachings condensed into a single practice. Through devotional offering, reflection, and meditation, practitioners cultivate the union of wisdom and compassion, recognizing the inseparability of the Guru and one’s own awakened mind.

In this rare and precious transmission, Rinpoche will guide students through Lama Chopa, illuminating its deep meaning and experiential application. Participants will learn how to bring the words of the text alive in meditation—transforming the practice from a recitation into a living path of realization.

Requirements: Highest Yoga Tantra initiation (such as Yamantaka).

Daily Commitment: Lama Chopa practice for life. Attendance requires a sincere commitment to daily practice — no exceptions. Does not include a daily Tsog commitment. No drop-ins.

If you are able to do the practice of Guru Puja in your daily life, it contains all the important points of sutra and tantra. It is a complete practice, and it shows the palm (which means the heart) of the instruction of the ear-whispered lineage of Ganden (Ganden/Ensa Nyengyu).
— Phabongkha Dechen Nyingpo quoted by Lama Zopa Rinpoche

Along with the transformative Lama Chopa program, retreatants are warmly invited to join Rinpoche’s uplifting Saturday and Sunday morning teachings — powerful sessions open to the public that promise to deepen your retreat experience.

If you would like to receive all of His Eminence Jhado Rinpoche’s teachings during his visit, including the Stupa Blessing, Yamantaka empowerment, and oral transmissions. Click here to register for the full program (January 19–29).
