Yamantaka Solitary Hero Initiation and Explanation

With Kyabje Khensur Jhado Chogtrul Rinpoche

January 21 - 22, 2026

January 21-22

About the Program

This rare and precious opportunity with Kyabjé Jhado Rinpoche offers students the chance to receive the profound Yamantaka Solitary Hero initiation and the oral transmission and explanation on the Yamantaka Short Sadhana—a complete package in just two days.

On Wednesday, January 21, Rinpoche will bestow the Yamantaka Solitary Hero Initiation, a powerful gateway to realizing the union of wisdom and compassion through the practice of Yamantaka, the wrathful aspect of Manjushri, embodiment of ultimate wisdom. Receiving this initiation plants the seeds for deep inner transformation and liberation from the subtlest obscurations.

On Thursday, January 22, Rinpoche will offer the oral transmission (lung) and explanation of the Yamantaka Short Sadhana, providing guidance on how to engage meaningfully with this sacred practice. This teaching is a rare chance to receive direct oral instruction from one of the most accomplished living masters of the Gelug tradition.

Requirements: Refuge in the Three Jewels.
Daily Commitment: Six-Session Guru Yoga and the Yamantaka Short Sadhana for life.

Overnight registration includes lodging and meals from lunch on January 21 through dinner on January 22

Students are encouraged to arrive rested and ready to receive these profound teachings with a clear and open mind.

If you wish to attend Rinpoche’s full series of teachings—including public talks, Lama Chopa commentary, and the Stupa blessing—you may click here to register for the complete program (January 19–29).

About Yamantaka

Yamantaka, the wrathful manifestation of Manjushri—the Buddha of Wisdom—is the principal Highest Yoga Tantra deity of the Gelug tradition. Known as the “Conqueror of Death,” Yamantaka embodies the union of wisdom and great compassion, transforming anger, fear, and ignorance into enlightened awareness. Through this powerful practice, one cuts through the subtlest layers of self-grasping and overcomes inner and outer obstacles on the path to awakening.
