Heart Essence of Buddha Nature Retreat

With Venerable Losang Gendun

October 10 - 12, 2025

In-Person and Online via Zoom

“To be empty of self is to be full of others” – Venerable Gendun

In this weekend retreat, we will explore the profound connection between Buddha Nature and compassionate activity, uncovering how the wisdom of emptiness naturally gives rise to boundless compassion.

Guided by the esteemed Venerable Gendun, we have the rare and precious opportunity to receive teachings that illuminate the two wings of the bodhisattva path—emptiness and compassion—not as separate qualities, but as inseparable aspects of our true nature. Rather than seeing emptiness as a void or negation, we will come to understand it as the openness that allows for deep connection with others, dissolving the illusion of a fixed self and revealing the vast, compassionate presence at the heart of our being.

The mantra Om Mani Padme Hum will serve as a guiding thread throughout the retreat, illustrating how the wisdom of emptiness and the jewel of compassion are woven together within this sacred syllabary.

Designed for those new to these teachings, this retreat offers a welcoming and accessible space to engage with the wisdom of the bodhisattva path and discover how the realization of emptiness naturally blossoms into care for the world.

We are incredibly fortunate to have Venerable Gendun leading this journey, offering insight, inspiration, and practical guidance for bringing these teachings into daily life.
