Sixteen-year-old Mia Stafford is bringing her great heart and can-do spirit to raise funds to support Land of Medicine Buddha once again! Her goal is to cycle 500 miles over 30 days with the goal of raising $30,000 to support Land of Medicine Buddha’s COVID Impact Fund to help LMB weather the economic challenges during this difficult time.
This is Mia’s third fundraiser for LMB. At the age of eleven, she ran 108 miles around the 8 Verses trail at Land of Medicine Buddha raising over $10,000. Read about it HERE. At age fifteen, she biked 108 miles between San Francisco and Soquel, stopping at the three other Bay area FPMT centers and raising more than $20,000!
Mia will start this THIRD fundraiser on October 1st and finish on October 31st, 2020. These are both full moon days which are especially auspicious days for collecting merit on the Buddhist calendar.

When I am at LMB, I always notice how happy it makes people feel when they visit and are in nature. I like that it is a place that is beautiful and protected and is going to stay that way, that is amazing. I want the money I raise to go to making sure that LMB is always here for people.

Land of Medicine Buddha (LMB), an environmentally conscious meditation and retreat center, is focused on healing and developing a good heart. It is located on 108 acres of coastal foothills and stands adjacent to 10,000 acres of redwood forest preserved by the State of California. LMB provides Tibetan Buddhist teachings, retreats, and healing programs, as well as space for others to host workshops. Founded by Lama Thubten Yeshe and our Spiritual Director Lama Zopa Rinpoche nearly forty years ago, LMB is a registered non-profit, religious organization, 501(c)(3) that draws inspiration from His Holiness the Dalai Lama. During this difficult time, LMB continues to offer teachings virtually on a variety of Buddhist topics for all levels.
