We will be doing the self-initiation (dag-jug; i.e., self-entry) of Yamantaka (Solitary Hero), along with Tsog offering.
Prerequisites: This event is restricted to those who have received the Yamantaka Initiation and completed the Yamantaka retreat with fire puja.
Practitioners with the initiation who have not yet completed the Yamantaka retreat with fire puja are welcome to join us for the first and third parts of the afternoon’s proceedings: namely the self generation part of the practice and the Tsog offering section.
Texts: We will be using the Self-Initiation text based on the Yamantaka Initiation text composed by Gyalwa Kalsang Gyatso, the 7th Dalai Lama, that was adapted for Self Initiation. The revised text was compiled at Mahamudra Center NZ in June 1992 etc on the occasion of a one month teaching on the Self-Initiation practice by Geshe Ngawang Dhargey. A link to this text will feature in your registration confirmation email. Please keep an eye out for it.
The Tsog text is taken from the FPMT edition of the Lama Chopa Guru Puja and Tsog Offering. A PDF of this text can be obtained by donation or for free from the FPMT online store: https://shop.fpmt.org/Lama-Chopa-and-Tsog-Offering-PDF_p_1949.html
Additionally, we will be reciting Lama TsongKhapa Guru Yoga.
Preparations: Your vajra, bell and inner offering are required. Damaru is optional. If you know the altar set up this is good. Otherwise, an image of Yamantaka Solitary Hero and an image of the Mandala will suffice.
