Water Bowl Offerings: An Explanation and Training with Venerable Yangchen
Join us for this hands on training about water bowl offering practice. This event is open to both those who want to be trained to help with water bowls offerings at Land of Medicine Buddha (LMB) and for those students interested in learning about the practice, but are not able to volunteer.
All are welcome! Come and have your questions answered and learn how to set up an altar with water bowls.
A common question from many beginning students is how to set up their own personal altars (including how to set up water bowls) in their homes. Here at LMB, we also have people ask frequently about the significance and the meaning of the many water bowls we have on different altars on the land.
At Land of Medicine Buddha, resident monk Venerable Samten is responsible for the daily emptying and filling of the dozens of large water bowls located in the Main Gompa, Wish Fulfilling Temple, and at Ksitigarbha Pure Land.
This hands on demonstration by Venerable Yangchen will also serve as a training for those who wish to volunteer to help us with the water bowl offerings here at LMB. We ask volunteers to help on Thursdays and Fridays when Ven. Samten has his normally scheduled days off . Please consider taking this training so you are able to volunteer when you are able to help with this vital and important practice at LMB.
