About the Vajra Cutter Sutra
The Vajra Cutter Sutra (Vajracchedikā Prajñāpāramitā Sutra) is one of the most famous and celebrated of all Mahayana Buddhist Sutras. It contains a concise presentation of Prajñāpāramitā —the true nature of our own being and all of reality. The Sutra is actually a discourse that happened between Gautam Buddha and a senior monk named Subhuti.
In the Sutra, the Buddha identifies our mistaken ideas about the nature of reality and the disturbing emotions that spring from them as the very root of all of our problems and suffering. To gain the lasting peace and happiness that we so desperately seek, there is no choice but to cultivate the wisdom that can uproot this very fundamental misunderstanding! This is the main teachings of the exalted Sutra called The Vajra Cutter Sutra.

About Venerable Tenzin Namjong
Born and raised in Hawaii, Venerable Tenzin Namjong studied and trained in Zen and Theravada Buddhist traditions before embracing the Tibetan Buddhist tradition, due mainly to the kindness of His Holiness the Dalai Lama and Lama Zopa Rinpoche.
He holds a B.A. in Philosophy from Princeton University and has been part of the 19-year Geshe (Doctorate of Buddhist Philosophy) study program at Sera Je Monastery in Bylakuppe in South India since 2007. Venerable Namjong is a registered teacher of the FPMT and regularly teaches at FPMT centers around the world.
