True Nature, Human Nature, Wild Nature With Riyaz Morton

January 19th – 22nd

True Nature, Human Nature, Wild Nature With Riyaz Morton

After a deeply nourishing Fall retreat at the sacred Land of Medicine Buddha, I am happy to announce this upcoming Winter retreat. As with the first retreat, this will be an opportunity for each of us to connect more deeply with ourselves, with each other, and to the natural world around us. We will explore the depths of being through silent meditation, guided meditation, walking and contemplation in nature, dyadic exercises, and intentional group dialogue. There will be ample time set aside for rest, contemplation, and for exploration of the retreat center environment and the beauty of the surrounding forest.

This retreat will be limited to 20 participants, and our group will have the entire retreat center to ourselves.

About the Teacher:

Riyaz has been a practicing psychotherapist in the Bay Area for the past 25 years. From the beginning his passion has been on the integration of Eastern wisdom traditions with Western psychology.  His two main teachers, John Prendergast and Adyashanti have deeply influenced his work and his spiritual life. He now increasingly feels called to support people in embodying their whole selves — their humanity and their divinity.

Date and Times

The retreat will begin on Thursday, January 19th at 5pm, and ends on Sunday, January 22nd after lunch.

Accommodations and the Retreat Center:

Land of Medicine Buddha offers a variety of accommodations.  There are single rooms, double rooms, shared rooms for more than 2 people, single and double yurts, as well as tent platforms available. There is also a commuter option available.

Retreat participants will have full access to the swimming pool

, sauna, and hiking trails and sacred spaces that surround the center.

Meals

All meals will be provided. Land of Medicine Buddha serves wholesome and delicious vegetarian meals in their dining space.

Silence

The retreat will be held primarily in silence. All participants are asked to maintain silence outside of normal meeting times during the course of the retreat. The silence allows for the group and each participant to deepen into stillness and for the usual tendencies of our minds and behavior to relax and settle. The first meal on Thursday evening (dinner) and the last meal on Sunday (lunch) will not be in silence.

Cost:

The total cost listed below includes all 3 nights of accommodation, all meals and facility use, as well as the retreat fee.
