What Is It?
Sound healing is a sacred and powerful practice that has grown enormously in popularity in recent years. Different vibrational frequencies are said to resonate with different facets of the human energy field, helping to clear blockages, soothe our overtaxed nervous systems and aid in the release and expression of positive potentialities such as peace, joy, connectedness and creativity.
What To Bring
Please bring a yoga mat (or two for more cushion – some have brought a camping mat, ie therm-a-rest), cozy blanket, and perhaps an eye pillow. We want you to have everything you need to be comfortable and relaxed as you lie down on the meadow platform or on the ground in the meadow, if you prefer, and let the healing tones of the sound healing carry you home.
Where To Meet
Please park in the lower campus parking lot and walk up to the meadow adjacent to the white Stupa that is under construction. (This is approximately a 12-15 minute walk so please arrive punctually so you have time to head up the hill. WE SUGGEST ARRIVING AT 4:10) For help with directions, please take a photo of the map posted outside our bookstore.
About The Instructor
Originally from eastern Tibet, Kalden Kho brings a wealth of Tibetan cultural and spiritual experience to his sound healing. He became a monk at the age of 5 and continued his monastic studies until the age of 23, when he completed a three year retreat. He subsequently escaped to India in the winter of 2000 and joined his Tibetan community in exile, under His Holiness the 14th Dalai Lama. He moved to the U.S. 10 years ago. Throughout his journeys across the U.S, he has come to meet people from all walks of life. What he has discovered, is that people more and more are seeking community and healing as a way to offset the stress and isolation of modern lifestyles. Despite missing his home and the deep sense of community that flourished in his country of birth, Kalden’s wish is to use his talents to create something of similar value here. He seeks to provide an experience that reflects the qualities of Tibetan cultural tradition, while also forging an innovative path forward.
