Live like a Bodhisattva in order to become a Bodhisattva

The Six Perfections (Paramitas) are the aspiration and activities of someone who is seeking to become enlightened for the benefit of all sentient beings: a bodhisattva  (a being whose every thought is pervaded by the altruistic intention to become a buddha to support all to do the same). Their compassionate concern is without partiality or bias, their love unconditional and pure. How do they get this way? Is it possible for us?

From the Mahayana Buddhist perspective, this type of all-encompassing goodwill, together with perfect wisdom and skillful means is the potential of everyone. The way to achieve it is to start where we are – with our flaws and qualities; our ignorance and wisdom – and use inner methods to consciously and intentionally uproot what is negative and develop what is positive.

This course will teach how to live by the 6 Paramitas, the motivations and activities of a bodhisattva. In this way, we learn how to live a life with more wisdom, kindness and peace – a happy life that leaves a ripple effect of the same wherever we go.

This course will be led by Venerable Yönten and will contain in-depth instructions and meditation practices to give all areas of your life more power and momentum to benefit both yourself and everyone you come into contact with.

There will be time for questions and discussion and no previous meditation experience is required. Each session stands alone making dropping in and out of the course very flexible, however each session will also build on those prior for those students aiming to commit to the entire series.
