ABOUT SATURDAY MORNING MEDITATIONS

Ven. Amy’s Guided Meditations blend a refreshing and insightful combination of accessibility, practicality, and depth – a path that demonstrates we can all build a rich and consistent meditation practice. Approachable for beginners as well as long-term practitioners who might like to reinvigorate their practice, these weekly, hour-long sessions lend regular support to combat laziness and procrastination. What could be better?! It’s a wonderful way to lend meaning to your life and to enjoy your weekend!

HOW TO PREPARE

Find a comfortable space at home where you won’t be disturbed. You may prefer a cozy chair or perhaps a meditation cushion. Either is fine. The meditation leader, Ven. Amy, will give a brief explanation on how to adjust your mental and physical posture. Then we will start with concentration meditation for the first half of the period. This will be followed by a short break to stretch our legs and make any needed adjustments. The second half of the hour will be guided meditation analyzing various topics of Buddhist philosophy – this helps us deepen our understanding of Buddhist teachings and how best to apply those teachings to enhance our everyday life.

COVID POLICY FOR IN-PERSON

Masks will be required to be worn inside for those attending (not the teacher).

THE KINDNESS OF DONATIONS

Generosity was one of the first positive attitudes that the Buddha emphasized in his teachings. Generosity creates a healthy flow of Dharma in your life and is the cause of your own prosperity. Your donations help us offer Buddhist teachings and meditation retreats to the world, a path that can lead people out of suffering to ultimate happiness.
