Recognizing My Mother – An Experiential Song on the View was composed by the great 18th century Tibetan master Changkya Rölpai Dorjé. It is often referred to by His Holiness the Dalai Lama who has previously taught it online. His Holiness last taught it earlier this year at the request of Lama Zopa Rinpoche. The view we are speaking of in the title is dependent arising, and the mother is emptiness.
Jhado Rinpoche was originally scheduled to teach this course on Aug 18 & 19. Rinpoche’s teachings is postponed till further notice.
Ven. Yönten will do two introductory sessions to “Recognizing My Mother” in preparation for Jhado Rinpoche’s teachings.
Wednesday, August 18th and Thursday August 19th
Live on Zoom and in the LMB Gompa (please wear a mask)
These sessions will explore the rich poetry and analogies with Changkya Rolpai Dorje’s beautiful text as well as have time for guided meditation and discussion.
A great way to understand the main themes before Jhado Rinpoche returns to the text in more depth, hopefully later this year.
While this is an advanced text, the session are open to everyone.
Click here for a copy of the text.
Further details of Jhado Rinpoche’s teachings to follow. Thank you!
