Lama Zopa Rinpoche explains the benefits of Tara practice:

Tara is quick to grant success in obtaining the ultimate happiness of enlightenment. You receive much good merit, or cause of happiness; it prevents a suffering rebirth in your next life. Reciting the Twenty-One Taras’ praise with devotion, or remembering Tara, singing praises and reciting mantras, protects you from fear and dangers, and fulfil all your wishes. If you pray to Tara, Tara is particularly quick to grant help.

There are also many temporal benefits. Tara can solve many problems in your life: liberate you from untimely death; help you recover from disease; bring you success in business; help you to find a job; bring you wealth. Through Tara practice, you can obtain any happiness of this life that you wish.

About Lama Chopa

Lama Chopa, also called Guru Puja, is a beautiful, profound practice where we make offerings to and request blessings and inspiration from the Three Jewels and the Spiritual Teacher (whether or not the teacher is physically present).

Lama Chopa with Tsog Offering is an excellent practice for accumulating merit and pacifying obstacles on the path to enlightenment.

The Tsog Offering portion of the puja fulfills a commitment* for those Highest Yoga Tantra practitioners practicing Mother Tantra, and restores vows and pledges that have degenerated.

*Highest Yoga Tantra Practitioners who would like to participate in offering Tsog at home may set out offerings of fruit, food and flowers on their home altars and have on hand a small amount of meat and alcohol.

Phabongkha Dechen Nyingpo usually emphasizes that even if one can’t do much else in daily life, Guru Puja is the essential practice. … This practice of Guru Puja is very profound, with many extra benefits, and is very quick to bring enlightenment. ~ Lama Zopa Rinpoche
