Why Take an Orientation to Empowerments and Tantric Vows?
Over the next several weeks, while we enjoy the great blessing of Kyabje Jhado Rinpoche’s visit to Land of Medicine Buddha, there will a number of Tantric Empowerments and teachings taking place (some in-person, some on Zoom.) The first of these is the Yoga Tantra Kunrig Initiation that takes place on Thursday 9th and Friday 10th December. Wednesday evening’s Orientation Session with Ven Yönten is a wonderful opportunity to prepare.
Who is this Class for?
Wednesday evening’s “Orientation to Empowerments and Tantric Vows” with Ven Yönten is offered freely as a gift from us to you, and is intended as an opportunity for newcomers to the world of Tantra, about to receive Empowerment during Kyabje Jhado Rinpoche’s teaching visit, to get off to a well informed, “clean, clear start.” This way, you are well prepared and able to keep your new vows and commitments as purely as possible. More seasoned participants wishing to refresh their understanding of this profound and sometimes complex territory are also warmly invited to join.
Qualifications:
Since the “Orientation to Empowerments and Tantric Vows” is primarily intended for those who are about to receive Tantric Initiation during Kyabje Jhado Rinpoche’s visit, the same pre-requisites (listed below) apply:
• Have taken refuge in the Buddha, Dharma, and Sangha
• Have a good foundation of the Lamrim, stages of the path, or at least have an understanding of the three principal aspects of the path.
• Have faith and respect for all traditions of Buddhism and in His Holiness the Dalai Lama
