Blessing the Animals in the Ocean

Sunday, April 26, 2015

11:00am – Meet us on Pier

Join us to add blessings to the ocean and the sentient beings therein, by putting the Namgyalma mantra board into the water and then doing a short meditation with mantra recitation, following the instructions of Lama Zopa Rinpoche for such a practice.

Bring your sun hat. Dress in layers for the ever-changing weather – sunny, foggy, windy – that occurs at the beach.

Location: Seacliff Beach in Aptos, where the sunken cement boat is.

Parking: There is a $10 charge to park inside the State Park – up above or down by the beach. The State Parks need your support these days, so if you have the money you can be glad to help them with your contribution. If you want to skip that $10 charge, you can park out on the street outside the official entrance and just walk from there – it’s not that much farther – or you can park at the Rio Del Mar beach parking lot (next to Aptos Creek) and walk over on a flat sidewalk to the pier.
