As we kick off the start of the Tibetan New Year (Losar on February 21st), we consider our aspirations for positive changes to our life in the coming year. Some want to read more or exercise more, but ultimately we hope for more happiness in the coming year than we’ve experienced previously. As the great master Shantideva said:
“Cherishing others is the cause of all happiness, cherishing ourselves is the cause of all suffering.”
We are delighted to offer this retreat to help develop a kinder heart and transform suffering that arises in the coming year. It is our great honor to have Geshe Tenzin Zopa with us throughout our Losar celebrations to lead us in this retreat. He will be giving teachings on the Roots of Mahayana Mind training by Lama Atisha and guiding us through giving and taking (Tonglen) meditations.
We request that you join us in person if you are in the local region (unless you are unwell). Zoom will only be available for the Introductory session on Friday and four teaching sessions starting at 9:00am, 11:00am and 3:00pm PST each day. The morning and evening meditation sessions will not be available via zoom.
