About the Series:

✨This is the last meeting in an extensive series of Mahayana Mind Training which Rinpoche originally commenced teaching for LMB back in December 2016. Rinpoche has very nearly reached the end of the text, so we anticipate there will be lots of opportunities to ask Rinpoche questions in this ‘wrap-up class’. We invite previous attendees to review your notes and get your questions ready!

Land of Medicine Buddha has requested Rinpoche to kindly continue teaching LMB students (via Zoom for the time being) on the fourth Saturday of each month at the same time of 3.30 PM to 5.30 PM (PT). Please keep an eye on our website and our weekly e-news for updates.

About the Class:

InterpreterVenerable Steve Carlier

Gyumed Khensur Rinpoche Lobsang Jampa will draw this teaching series of Kadampa Geshe Chekawa’s classic and profound text: The Seven Point Mind Training to a close in this class.  There will be ample time for Q and A.

Whatever you are able to hear on the topic of Mahayana Buddhist Mind Training (lo-jong) has the potential to sow deeply beneficial seeds of understanding in your mind stream. These teachings can operate on  many levels: they are directly applicable in daily life, and can also serve to enhance your wisdom and compassion, as you progress on the path to Enlightenment.

This is a special and rare chance to receive teachings and ask questions on these profound Mind Training teachings from a high accomplished, kind and revered Master. We are exceedingly fortunate to have this precious opportunity.

Seven Point Mind Training

This short but pithy text is one of the most important and influential works of mind training composed in Tibet.  The series of slogans was first compiled by Chekawa Yeshe Dorje (1101–1175) according to the tradition of Atiśa Dīpaṃkara (982–1054). The seven points may be summarized as follows:

1) Teaching the preliminaries on which this Dharma depends
2) Training the mind in bodhicitta, the foundation
3) Converting unfortunate circumstances into a path enlightenment
4) Teaching a practice to be applied your whole life
5) The criteria of having trained the mind
6) The commitments of the mind-training practice
7) Advice for the mind-training practice
