Tantra considers it very important to eradicate … symptoms of ego. There is no point holding garbage-concepts of yourself. You are perfect; you just need to recognize it. According to tantra, you do not need to wait until your next life to experience heaven. Heaven is now … LAMA YESHE: “The Bliss of Inner Fire”
About Module 13:
Participants will gain insight into the meaning of tantra, how tantra works, and why it is a powerful form of practice if done with the right foundation of understanding and practice. You will receive a broad overview of the distinction between sutra and tantra, the four classes of tantra and the meaning of deity yoga. An understanding of refuge, bodhicitta and emptiness is recommended.
About Discovering Buddhism:
When FPMT Co-founders, Lama Thubten Yeshe and Lama Zopa Rinpoche, began to transmit teachings to their disciples in the 1970s, they came from a deeply experiential tradition of study and practice. This tradition is the core of Discovering Buddhism, a fourteen-module program that gives students a solid foundation in the teachings and practice of Tibetan Mahayana Buddhism. Among all FPMT education programs, Discovering Buddhism, in particular, is presented in the context of “FPMT Wisdom Culture.”
About The Instructor:
Karuna Cayton is a psychotherapist (MFT31860), executive advisor and coach. He uses modern psychology and secular principles of Buddhist psychology in simple and everyday language that students tend to find highly accessible. He has been a student of Buddhism for over forty years. He has authored several books including: The Misleading Mind: How We Create Our Own Problems and How Buddhist Psychology Can Help Us Solve Them.
