Description from the FPMT Education Dept:
Investigate what “samsara” is and how we are stuck in it. Find out what “nirvana” is and how to achieve it. Learn how to be free from suffering and empower yourself with practical tools to deal with and eliminate disturbing emotions forever.
Message from the instructor:
This course delves into the Four Noble Truths, i.e., four things which are true for realized beings. We will investigate
- the nature of suffering (duhka) – what exactly is the problem (samsara)
- what is generating this suffering – mental problems (klesha) and the psychological imprints that they create (karma)
- what it would be like to be free of these problems (nirvana)
- what types of consciousnesses (paths) we need to develop to lead us to nirvana
