Day of Meditation with V. Amy Miller
Saturday March 26th, 2021 10:45 am to 3:00pm (PST)
So many situations can induce stress in our minds these days; the devastation in Ukraine, a worldwide pandemic, inflation, politics, illness, and on and on… When tough times hit how often do we choose less than satisfactory coping mechanisms that end up contributing to more anxiety and depression in our lives? Explore a day of a variety of meditations to not only inspire and motivate our practice, but help us hold all the difficulties that are facing us today, individually and collectively, in an empowering way.

About the Instructor
Amy J. Miller (Ven. Lobsang Chodren) first encountered Buddhism in 1987 at Kopan Monastery in Nepal and has been ordained since 2000. She has spent a great deal of time engaged in meditation retreats, study, teaching, and Buddhist center management. Prior to studying Buddhism, Amy was a political fundraiser in Washington, DC and also worked for Mother Jones Magazine in San Francisco, California. She has trained as a hospice counselor during the peak of the AIDS epidemic and offers popular courses and retreats on death and dying, as well as end-of-life care.
V. Amy has lead many pilgrimages to Buddhist sites such as Lawudo Retreat Center in the Mount Everest region of Nepal, and continues to do so (see her website below for more information on joining her on the next trip). Students have shared that her teaching style helps one connect with meditation and mindfulness in an effort to gain a refreshing perspective on normally stressful living. As the co-author of FPMT’s Buddhism in a Nutshell, V. Amy is a vetted resource to begin to understand these profound teachings. For more information on V. Amy’s schedule and future courses she will be leading, see www.AmyMiller.com.
