The guru to many of the world’s gurus, H.E. Chöden Rinpoche is regarded as one of the great masters of our day and is renowned as a great yogi, scholar, and teacher.
Chöden Rinpoche started on the seminal Je Tsong Khapa’s text, Great Exposition of the Stages of the Path to Enlightenment (lam.rim chen.mo), at Land of Medicine Buddha in 2001. We are extraordinarily blessed to once again to have the opportunity to continue receiving teachings from such an accomplished master. Rinpoche will continue teaching from the “Perfection of Joyous Effort” section, Vol 2 of the Great Exposition of the Stages of the Path to Enlightenment, Snow Lion Publications.
Comments by Lama Zopa Rinpoche, at Land of Medicine Buddha in 2002:
Because every single word is coming from his realizations and pure samaya with his gurus, if you meditate continuously as [Chöden] Rinpoche gives teachings and continue to meditate on that basis I would think that definitely you will achieve realization… This is my general comment that I want to emphasize for new students, old students, everyone. There are many people who achieve realizations during teachings. While the lama is teaching their mind gets moved and they get realizations.
So I would like to emphasize for the old students to attend the Lam Rim teachings as much as possible. Originally it was Ribur Rinpoche‘s advice to invite a very powerful lama to give the Lam Rim Chen Mo teachings at LMB, so this happened due to Rinpoche’s kindness. So even though there are many engagements at home, in the family, if one is able to make the time I would suggest to try as much as possible to attend Chöden Rinpoche’s Lam Rim teachings. For sure the result is that there will be no regret in the future at all. No regret in the future; the future is enlightenment, the realizations of the path to enlightenment.
Lam Rim is Tibetan for Stages of the Path. It is a systematic way of presenting The Buddha’s teachings in a way for us to have progressive realizations all the way up to complete enlightenment.
