Beyond Religion: Ethics for the Whole World — Book Study Group
In the introduction to his 2011 book, Beyond Religion, His Holiness the Dalai Lama says,
“…All the pressures of modern life bring with them stress, anxiety, depression, and increasingly, loneliness…. It is clear that something is seriously lacking in the way we human beings are going about things… The fundamental problem, I believe, is that at every level we are giving too much attention to the external, material aspects of life while neglecting moral ethics and inner values.”
How do we apply the principles of ethics to our lives in this increasingly complex world?
What are some of the ethical dilemmas we face?
How can our ethical decisions become grounded in awareness and compassion?
Join us for a study group delving into His Holiness’s book, and these issues. This group will be co-facilitated by the participants and will meet Mondays from 7:00 to 8:30 for 9 weeks, October 15 through December 10. Participation in all sessions is encouraged.
Copies of the book will be available at first study group meeting.
