Out of vast compassion, the Bodhisattva Ksitigarbha famously made a sacred commitment to help all beings out of suffering, vowing:

“Until the hells are empty, I vow not to become a Buddha. Only after all living beings are saved, will I myself attain Bodhi.”

This special annual prayer and offerings event takes place in the upper area of the Center (near the giant gold statue and the adjacent Ksitigarbha shrine room). It commemorates and celebrates the sacred, vast and compassionate vows of Ksitigarbha.

We are delighted to invite you to come join us to make prayers and offerings.

Our revered Guru, Lama Zopa Rinpoche, named this special area of LMB Ksitigarbha Pure Land and attended this prayer event here at Land of Medicine Buddha back in 2012. “Rinpoche shone with delight at all of the offerings, food, light, gold to the statue, water bowl and prayer … so, so beautiful,” shared Denice Macy, LMB’s director at that time. Although Rinpoche will not be in attendance this year, we are thrilled to be marking this special occasion and we hope you can come to the land, connect with the great Bodhisattva Ksitigarbha in prayer, bring food offerings for the altar, and receive many blessings.

A WARM INVITATION TO YOU, YOUR FAMILY, FRIENDS, & PETS!

We sincerely invite you to join us in creating positive merit by offering foods, candy, and cookies to Ksitigarbha on September 5th and/or 6th. After your offerings have received the special blessing you may bring it home afterwards to share with your family and friends. Simply offering bottles of drinking water can become purification nectar! Bring all of your family members with you, even your dog, cat, or beloved pet! We look forward to seeing you for this meritorious occasion.

A RARE OPPORTUNITY TO ADOPT A KSITIGARBHA STATUE

In the Pure Land there are 108 Ksitigarbha statues for people to individually adopt. Lama Zopa Rinpoche suggested a $1,080 donation request to adopt one. These statues are all surrounding the White Tara Thangka,  which emanates good health, wealth, and increased wisdom.  -Dr. Angela Wang

*Email  if you are interested in adopting a Ksitigarbha Statue. At your request, she can send pictures of the Ksitigarbha Pure Land, 108 Ksitigarbha statues and the meaning of the number 108 with you.
